The subject of this report is the relationship between Egypt and Hamas, the determinants of this relation and the developments, especially during the period that followed the Palestinian dicussions that were held in Cairo in March 2005 up until early 2009.

It points out the role of Egypt in the national Palestinian dialogu files, establishing truces, or prisoner exchange with the Israelis; and it discusses the Egyptian stance from Hamas’s victory in the 2006 legislative council elections, and from the seige, ending by the Israeli war.
