Al-Zaytouna Center for Studies and Consultations held on 19/4/2017, a panel discussion entitled “Palestinian Refugee Camps in Lebanon Towards a Comprehensive Solution,” where a select of specialists, experts and those interested in Lebanese and Palestinian affairs participated.

Prof. Dr. Mohsen Mohammad Saleh moderated the session, and the panelists discussed the the difficult economic and social conditions of the Palestinian refugees in the Palestinian refugee camps (RCs), in addition to the security disturbances.

They also discussed the ways to have a comprehensive and complete solution to the problems and crises of these RCs in Lebanon. Moreover, there are fears of external attempts to use the Palestinians in local or regional conflicts, especially since they are living in dire political and economic conditions.

The participants stressed the need for the Palestinian factions and refugees in Lebanon to adopt a neutrality policy, and the necessity of finding a unified Palestinian reference that has a single political vision for approaching the refugee situation, and the need to grant a greater role to civil society institutions within Palestinian society. They called for the necessity of having updated studies on the RCs and the Palestinian situation.
