Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations-Beirut and the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM)- Ankara held on 27/8/2020, a panel discussion via Zoom on the future of Lebanon in the context of internal and external dynamics.

Lebanon has long been suffering economic and political crises that eventually led to mass popular protests since October 2019. It has become unable to overcome its crises, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ceasar Act and the Beirut port blast on 4/8/2020, not to mention that Lebanon is directly affected by regional developments and it affects the stability of the Middle East region.

At first, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uysal, head of ORSAM, started the discussion with an opening speech, then the session was moderated by Dr. Samir Alabdullah, the expert on the Levant studies at ORSAM, where the panelists discussed the Lebanese scene, its dilemmas and prospects; the impact of the situation of Lebanon on regional and international conditions, in addition to the place of Lebanon in the Turkish strategy.

The panelists included Dr. Imad al-Hout, former Lebanese MP; Dr. Abdulgani Bozkurt, assistant professor at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University; Prof. Dr. Mohsen Mohammad Saleh, general manager of al-Zaytouna Center for Studies and Consultations; and Oytun Orhan, Levant studies coordinator at ORSAM.
