A training course entitled, “Preparing a Strategic Report” was held by al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations, on 29/6/2021. The 6-hour course was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Mohsen Mohammad Saleh, who offered his 16-year expertise in preparing and publishing the Strategic Report to ten Malaysian trainees from the Interdisciplinary Research and International Strategy Institute (IRIS).
In the first session, Saleh gave a general idea of the strategic report, its importance and specifications. He explained about the periodicity of its publication, its academic standards and the topics it covers, in addition to preparing the executive summary of the report and an overview of the editorial board and how it is formed.
In the second session, different aspects of the Strategic Report were explained, including: The proposal plan, the editor’s role and specifications, the contributors/ writers of the Report, the role of the consultants and peer reviewers, the role of the editor assistants, and the cycle (road map) of preparing the Report, its publishing and marketing, among other things.
The practical training was in the third session, where the trainees submitted two basic proposals for preparing the Malaysian Strategic Report. Saleh discussed these proposals, offering some suggestions concerning content and implementation.
