Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations in Beirut issued a new information report entitled, “Dr. Akram al-Kharroubi: An Academic for Palestine 1954–2021,” by Awni Fares, a Palestinian researcher on Palestinian affairs. The 30th publication of the Information Report series was prepared by the Archives and Information Department and is available for free download.
The 82-page book explores the biography of the distinguished academic, politician and organizational man, Dr. Akram al-Kharroubi. It is a distinct biography due to al-Kharroubi’s lifestyle and the richness and importance of his experience. He was among those who had a vanguard role in leading the Islamic movement in the West Bank, and in national struggle at a historical time, and he was one of the leaders of the prisoners’ movement.
Information Report (30) documents the different stages of al-Kharroubi’s life, and his experience in various fields; including his birth, family, childhood and youth, education, professional achievements, social gains, his beginnings of Islamic action, return to Palestine, and his imprisonment and illness. These information were either narrated by his family, friends and coworkers, or were mentioned in official documents and other references.
This report is a qualitative addition, due to the scarcity of biographies of Islamic leaders who played a central role in the national struggle in occupied Palestine, during the post-1987 period.
Noted that the Archives and Information Department has prepared this Information Report (30), with Prof. Dr. Mohsen Mohammad Saleh as editor-in-chief and Basem Elkassem the managing editor.
