This report sheds light on the Kadima party in Israel, the context behind its establishment, and the implications of the absence of Sharon on it and on its political performance.

The report considers when Olmert held the leadership resonsibility, the party’s victory in the 17 Knesset elections in Israel, the war against Lebanon in 2006, the management of the negotiation track, and the corruption files and issues that surfaced.

Then, the report considers when Livni held the leading responsibility in the party, the internal elections in Kadima, Livni’s efforts to form a new government and the role of Kadima in the war against Gaza in late 2008 and ealry 2009.

Finally the report also considers the 18th Knesset elections and its implications on the Kadima Party.
