This report, the 15th of the information report series, sheds light on the most famous international UN agency in the Palestinian issue, the UNRWA, officially: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.

Topics covered include UNRWA’s establishment and history, its work programmes, regions of activity, financial resources and funding procedures, its budget and the current crisis/deficit it faces.

Elaborating more on UNRWA’s services and programs, the report details in a region-based approach, their current status. Then it moves towards evaluating the UNRWA’s performance.

The report also includes a dedicated section about the implications of Oslo on UNRWA’s work and role, and discusses the future challenges this agency faces regarding the nature of its role, especially as its services and performance have significantly deteriorated in the past years.
