Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations in Beirut issued a new Arabic book on the relation between Egypt and the Gaza Strip (GS) following the 25 January Revolution, revealing its determinants and tracks. The 104-page book is the 27th publication in the Information Report series prepared by the Archives and Information Department at al-Zaytouna Centre. It highlights the common files between GS and Egypt during the rule of the military council whether regarding the relation with the resistance, the prisoners swap deal “Devotion of the Free,” the Palestinian reconciliation, in addition to the GS siege. Moreover, the book explores the aspects related to the Egyptian side such as Rafah crossing and destruction of tunnels. Information Report (27) also covers the term of President Muhammad Mursi and his approach to the Israeli offensive on GS in 2012. It reveals the most important popular and partisan Egyptian stances towards the war, the relation with the Palestinian resistance, the Palestinian reconciliation, and the GS blockade. The book discusses the Egypt-GS relations following the 30/6/2014 developments. It sheds light on the Egyptian mediation in the Israel-resistance ceasefire agreement, following the 2014 summer war. It also reveals the newest Egyptian policy regarding Rafah crossing and the tunnels. The Information Report series was launched by the Information Department of al-Zaytouna Centre in early 2008. It aims at providing periodical, informative, concise and well-documented information set on selected issues of concern on the Arab and Muslim World, specifically the Palestinian issue.
