The book is one of the most important periodic publications issued by Al-Zaytouna, pursuing meticulous criteria for selecting documents. These are categorized according to their importance, thus showing the map of events and developments related to the Palestinian issue.

The editorial staff was keen to consider the influential factors throughout 2010 on the Palestinian, Arab, Islamic, Israeli and international levels while taking into account the relative weight of the prominent players, the level of their influence, and their participation in the events.

Reading through the documents reveals that the state of deadlock, division and frustration that has been dominant over the Palestinian situation throughout 2010, where no major change has been witnessed on the local, regional, Arab, Islamic or international levels.

The peace process in 2010 suffered further setbacks and frustration after attempts to push it forward through direct or indirect negotiations. This was so because of Israeli intransigence and the USA refusal to exercise any pressure on the Israeli government. Concurrently, the track of armed resistance suffered suffocating siege in Gaza Strip, repression from the Palestinian Authority, which is indulged in security coordination with Israel, and it also suffered from hostile or unfavorable Arab environment.

The volume is the outcome of a year of continuous work. It enriches the Palestinian library with an additional reference book that would serve researchers and those interested in the Palestinian issue, in addition to universities, research centres and studies institutions.
