Al-Zaytouna Centre, represented by its Deputy General–Manager Wael Sa‘ad, participated in the Euro-Med Think Tank Forum, held on 22–24/11/2018, in Rome, Italy. The forum was held by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), in collaboration with the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the University of Pennsylvania, which issues the annual Global Go To Think Tank Index.
Al-Zaytouna Centre was invited along with 45 other Think Tanks-selected out of 2,250 Think Tanks-representing Europe and the MENA region. ISPI Director Dr. Paolo Magri held the opening session of the forum. Discussions tackled the role of think tanks in approaching the various issues of the Middle East, such as security, economy and other issues.
Afterwards, Sa‘ad along with the other participants joined the Mediterranean Dialogues (MED) high-level conference, which was held in the same place. More than 20 sessions were held, on 22–24/11/2018, with more than 800 participants, including politicians, academics, experts, journalists and economists, from 56 countries, in addition to dozens of Think Tanks.
Al-Zaytouna participated in this forum, as a Think Tank representing Palestine, for a third year in a row. This is an international recognition of the leading role of al-Zaytouna Centre and its high standing in the Middle East concerning its studies and research that focus on the issue of Palestine. The forum was an important platform for al-Zaytouna to introduce its various activities and publications of Palestine political and strategic studies.
