The book is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter examines the impact of ideology on Benjamin Netanyahu’s political thought, the Israeli concept of conflict management policy, Netanyahu’s objectives within this policy and its main pillars. The second chapter explores the Israeli governments’ methods of managing the conflict with the Palestinians, while the third chapter outlines the key initiatives and projects aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during the period 2009-2020. The fourth chapter analyzes the impact of the conflict management policy on the future of the political settlement of the Palestinian question, with a focus on the so-called final status issues that include Jerusalem, settlement building, refugees and borders.
The author reached several findings, the most significant being that Israel has sustained the current political situation without a resolution, aiming to buy time to establish and accumulate new settlements on the ground, which would obstruct the formation of a Palestinian state.
The book recommends developing a national strategy to gradually mitigate the consequences of the Oslo Accords, while exploring alternative options. Foremost among these is resistance in all its forms—armed, popular, peaceful and diplomatic—as a fundamental approach to achieving the political aspirations of the Palestinian people.
