Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations published an academic paper titled “The Impact of the Ongoing War on Gaza: A Study of the Economic and Social Challenges Facing Youth,” authored by Dr. Raed Muhammad Hillis, a Palestinian researcher specializing in Palestinian economic affairs.

This study aims to examine the economic and social impacts of the ongoing war on the youth in GS. Economically, this group faces high unemployment rates, limited job opportunities, and a deteriorating infrastructure, all of which intensify the challenges of daily life. Socially, the war has heightened feelings of frustration, despair and alienation, while also increasing psychological strain and family pressures.

This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by youth by examining their personal testimonies and experiences. It also seeks to analyze the cumulative impact of these conditions on their psychological and social stability, as well as their ability to confront the future and contribute to the development of a more sustainable society.

This study emphasizes the need for targeted support strategies for youth in Gaza and calls for both international and local interventions to enhance their resilience. It urges decision-makers to prioritize the needs of this group and ensure their inclusion in future reconstruction and reconciliation efforts.
