Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations published an academic paper, in Arabic, titled “The Impact of the Israeli War on Gaza Strip: Humanitarian Conditions and Food Insecurity 7/10/2023–10/1/2025,” authored by Dr. Raed Muhammad Hillis, a Palestinian researcher specializing in Palestinian economic affairs.
Over the past decades, the Gaza Strip (GS) has endured multiple crises, severely impacting its population in humanitarian, social and economic terms. Ongoing wars and armed conflicts have intensified the daily suffering of its citizens, and GS now faces overlapping challenges, including deteriorating humanitarian conditions and increasing food insecurity.
The Israeli war on GS since October 2023 has further complicated these crises, impacting various aspects of life, from the shortage of basic resources to the challenges in accessing healthcare and humanitarian aid. The destruction of infrastructure and restrictions on movement have introduced additional layers to these difficulties, making it nearly impossible for many people to attain a decent standard of living.
This study aims to explore the multiple impacts of the current war on GS, focusing on humanitarian aspects and food insecurity. By gathering data from various sources and testimonies from individuals and organizations working in the food security sector, the study provides a comprehensive overview of these challenges. It highlights the urgent needs of the population, offering insights that may help enhance efforts to alleviate their suffering. The study concludes with several key findings and recommendations.
