The 119-page book begins with an overview of women’s position in Palestinian society and outlines the principal rights afforded to Palestinian women under international law and relevant conventions. It subsequently examines the violations committed by Israel in this domain through its recurrent assaults. Such violations directly target Palestinian women through killings, imprisonment, torture, house demolitions and the destruction of land and crops. At the same time, they undermine women’s fundamental rights, including access to education, healthcare, personal safety and a secure environment. Moreover, women are often instrumentalized as a means of exerting pressure on male relatives, whether a husband, son or brother, irrespective of whether he is involved in resistance, incarcerated or wanted.

The book further traces Palestinian women’s political engagement from the pre-1948 Nakbah period, through 1948–1967 and 1967–1993, and into the phase following the establishment of the Palestinian Authority, culminating in their participation in the Second Intifadah (al-Aqsa Intifadah).

In stylistic terms, this book is distinguished by its clarity and coherence, integrating academic rigor with carefully curated images and personal testimonies. Through this synthesis, it illuminates the layered forms of suffering experienced by Palestinian women under Israel and its discriminatory practices. This account unfolds against the backdrop of a global discourse that proclaims commitment to human rights, dignity and the right to live in peace, yet remains largely unresponsive to the realities confronting the Palestinian people.

This series is a rich interactive documentation of the Palestinian suffering under the Israeli occupation. It focuses on the Israeli violations of the Palestinians’ basic human rights. This series is also distinguished with academic, well documented, comprehensive, concise, and graphically-supported, It is published (& ongoing publication) in both Arabic and English Languages.
