Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations is pleased to make the “Population and Demographic indicators” section from The Palestine Strategic Report 2024-2025 available for free download on its website for researchers and all those interested in the Palestine issue.

This section provides an updated and evidence-based statistical overview of the Palestinian people inside and outside Palestine amid the exceptional circumstances resulting from Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza Strip (GS), the accompanying extensive escalation in the West Bank (WB), and the unprecedented demographic transformations that have followed.

Drawing on the latest official data and statistical tables, the study highlights the major demographic changes affecting the Palestinian people during 2024-2025. It estimates that the global Palestinian population reached about 15.49 million by the end of 2025, with 47.9% residing in historic Palestine and 52.1% in the diaspora. Furthermore, it examines the profound demographic and humanitarian consequences of the genocidal war on the GS, including population decline, human losses, widespread displacement, and its broader repercussions for social, educational, health and economic conditions. The study also presents updated indicators on Palestinian communities in the WB, the 1948 occupied territories, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.

This material is drawn from the chapter entitled “Palestinian Demographic and Economic Indicators,” the second chapter of The Palestinian Strategic Report 2024-2025. It was written by Dr. Raed Hillis and academically edited by Prof. Dr. Mohsen Mohammad Saleh.

The Palestinian Strategic Report 2024-2025 is the fourteenth in a series published by Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations over the past two decades. Over time, the series has become a key reference for specialists and those interested in the Palestine issue, owing to its comprehensive coverage of developments over a two-year period, its adherence to rigorous academic and professional standards, and its extensive use of up-to-date data and statistics, supported by numerous tables and figures, alongside strategic analysis and forward-looking assessments.

Al-Zaytouna Centre hopes that this material will support researchers, policymakers, academic and media institutions, and others interested in Palestinian affairs. It provides a reliable scholarly reference that brings together the latest population indicators of the Palestinian people and enhances understanding of the demographic transformations they underwent during 2024-2025.
