Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations presents an academic study edited by its General Manager, Prof. Dr. Mohsen Mohammad Saleh, entitled “Gaza Strip: Development and Construction in the Face of Siege and Destruction.” The study was prepared by Prof. Dr. Mohsen Mohammad Saleh, Prof. Dr. Moein Moh’d Ragab, Iqbal ‘Omeish, Ghina Jamal al-Din andBasem Jalal Elkassem. This study will soon be published in book form. 

When the Hamas-led government took control of the Gaza Strip (GS) in mid-June 2007, Israel tightened the blockade on the Strip in order to thwart the government and cause its Failure. In addition, GS faced three Israeli destructive wars, and it suffered various degrees of harassment and tunnel destruction by the Egyptian side.

This study focuses on the demographic, economic, educational and health situation in GS. It explores the damages and destruction caused by the recent Israeli aggression, which began in July 2014 and lasted for 50 days.

The study also discusses the challenges facing economic development, and the opportunities and future prospects of overcoming the obstacles, and going ahead to reconstruction and advancement.
